Challenge

For this assignment, we were tasked with developing a brand identity for an existing or fictional startup that offers a digital product or platform. The goal was to build a solid foundation through research and strategic insight, then creatively translate this into a consistent brand language and visual system, all to create a meaningful and cohesive identity that effectively represents the startup.

Concept

For this project, I chose to develop a brand identity for Matchday, an app designed to bring the football community together by allowing users to join or organize football matches easily. I selected this brand because today’s youth spend far too little time outdoors, often glued to their devices. With Matchday, I wanted to encourage a return to the classic, old-school way of playing outside, connecting people through sport and promoting a more active, social lifestyle.

The Logo

The MatchDay logo embodies energy, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The green tones reflect vitality and connection to the playing field, while the bold typography ensures clarity and confidence. The dynamic player icon highlights activity and movement, perfectly representing MatchDay’s mission to bring players together for exciting matches.


Simple yet modern, the logo reflects MatchDay’s professional and approachable identity, making it a strong symbol of community and passion for sports.

The Mark

The MatchDay mark is a dynamic representation of motion, teamwork, and passion for sports.
